About Us

About the Festival

The Tirana Mediterranean Film Festival is a cinematic cultural event that brings astonishing short films - fiction, documentary and animation - from the countries that surround one of the world’s largest bodies of water. Entries from these twenty something places are accepted, selected and brought to the darkened big screen here in Tirana, Albania.

Our goal is to keep the love of movies alive. This involves curating the best, award-winning short films to inspire audiences both young and old. We believe that this second edition of TMFF, with offerings from Cannes, Berlin and Sarajevo, will be both heartbreaking and humorous. It’s our hope that all these films, along with the masterclasses and workshops we selected, will create insight, discussion and be a rewarding experience for all.

The festival will take place from May 28th to 31st and will feature awards in the following categories:

The Directors

Festival Director
Ledion Zoi

Ledion Zoi

"We live in a time when everything moves fast. Screens have become smaller, the pace quicker and our attention is constantly divided between many things at once. In this reality, films too are changing to adapt to algorithms and our new viewing habits. But cinema has always been more than that. It is the art of storytelling — stories that move us, make us think, and stay with us long after the screen fades to black. The Tirana Mediterranean Film Festival is an invitation to return to that experience. To watch films, not as content that quickly passes before our eyes, but as stories that deserve our time and attention. Because the power of cinema is not measured by clicks or statistics, but by the mark it leaves on each of us.Lights, Camera, Tirana! Welcome to Tirana Mediterranean Film Festival – Edition 2."
